🚪 5 Things Every HR Professional Must Do Before Leaving a Job
📁 Collect every document before your last day
Offer letter, increment letters, relieving letter, experience letter, salary slips, and Form 16. Get these before you leave. Once you're out, chasing them becomes a nightmare.
💰 Settle every financial loose end
Last salary, reimbursements, leave encashment, gratuity, and PF transfer. Know your FnF timeline and follow up proactively. You know how this works. Use it.
🤝 Exit gracefully, even if you're relieved
Hand over every open task, document your processes, brief your replacement. How you leave is what people remember. Everyone you work with is a future reference.
🔒 Back up your personal data now
Work samples, personal emails, and contacts you'll need later. Once access is revoked, it's gone. Check that no personal accounts are logged in on office devices.
🌐 Update LinkedIn and lock in references
Update your profile the moment notice period starts. Ask for recommendations while the work is fresh. Confirm your references before the next application goes out.
