Focus on your key skills, experience, and the value you bring. If you wouldn’t let a candidate ramble for five minutes, don’t do it yourself.
🎯 Open with what you do now
Start with your current role and the area you’re strongest in. “I’m an HR generalist focused on hiring and onboarding” beats starting from your first job.
📊 Pick one proof point
Choose one result that shows your value, ideally with a number. One strong example sticks. Five get forgotten.
🧩 Tailor it to the role
Read the job description again and match your intro to what they need most. A TA role and an HRBP role need different openings from you.
🔚 End with why this role
Close by linking your experience to the job in front of you. It tells them you’re here on purpose, not just applying everywhere.
