Yes, that Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He has a newsletter on beehiiv. So do Codie Sanchez, Jay Shetty, David Begnaud, Colin & Samir, and Joanna Stern.

They could publish just about anywhere. They chose beehiiv to build a direct connection with the people who want to hear from them most. And you can do the same, whether you’re world-famous or just at the start of your plan for world domination.

  • 📊 What the numbers say

  • 💸 Why this is HR's problem to own

  • 🧪 A reality check before you panic

  • ✅ What HR should do now

1️⃣ What the Numbers Say

A HirePro report covered by Economic Times draws on about one million assessments and 100,000 interviews.

  • 🚩 45% of assessments were flagged for integrity concerns in FY26, up from 32% in FY22

  • 🤖 AI-assisted cheating is the fastest-growing form, up 50% year on year

It is not just India. CodeSignal's research found fraud attempts on proctored assessments more than doubled in 2025, from 16% to 35%.

2️⃣ Why This Is HR's Problem

HirePro's COO says early-stage screening is the most compromised stage, which weakens talent quality before interviews even begin. That is the stage most HR teams trust the most.

Wharton's Peter Cappelli, citing Aiseptor, notes that cheating attempts doubled in a year and over 60% got through undetected.

What that means for you:

  • ⚠️ Your shortlist may rank candidates on how well they use a tool, not on what they can do

  • 😔 Honest candidates get pushed down the list by those who did not play fair

  • 💸 Cappelli's point: in-person assessments cost more, but a mis-hire costs more still

3️⃣ A Reality Check Before You Panic

Most of these numbers come from vendors who sell assessment or detection tools. Read them as a signal, not a verdict.

There is a perception gap too. Clevry found that 62% of HR and talent professionals believe candidates are using AI to cheat, but only 26% said they had seen actual evidence.

The takeaway is not "ban AI". It is: know what your funnel can and cannot catch.

4️⃣ What HR Should Do Now

  • 🔍 Ask your assessment vendor for flag rates and what they actually detect, in writing

  • 🧪 Never let one online score decide. Add a short live or in-person check for finalists

  • 🗣️ Ask candidates to explain their answers in the interview. Genuine skill holds up under follow-ups

  • 📋 Say what AI use is allowed before the test, so the rules are not a guess

  • 🤝 Brief your hiring managers. They should know what the scores can and cannot tell them

The first filter is the easiest one to game. Treat it like one.
