What’s on the agenda today?
Hey {{First Name| there}},
Your employees are saving 11 hours a week with AI. Then spending 6.4 of them babysitting it. 👀
Meet botsitting. And its messier cousin, botshitting. Two new workplace behaviors that are quietly eating your AI productivity gains — and that most HR teams have never heard of.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
1️⃣ Two New Words HR Needs to Know
The Work AI Index 2026 — a Glean study with Notre Dame, Stanford and UC Berkeley — surveyed 6,000 digital workers and introduced two terms that are about to become very familiar.
Botsitting — reviewing, correcting and providing context to AI outputs before they can be trusted.
Botshitting — submitting AI-assisted work without verifying it or being able to defend its accuracy.
One is too much work. The other is not enough.
2️⃣ The Numbers Behind It
The headline: employees save ~11 hours a week with AI. Then spend 6.4 of them on botsitting.
How AI time is actually spent per the study:
37% supervising and correcting AI output
36% using AI to produce work
27% learning tools and building agents
36% of AI sessions fail completely — requiring a restart or rework
69% of AI users admit to at least one botshitting behaviour
Only 13% say their organisation performs significantly better because of AI
The gains are real. So is the gap between what individuals save and what organisations actually capture.

AI can build faster. Can your team decide better?
AI can draft the PRD and prototype the idea. Jira Product Discovery helps teams decide whether it belongs on the roadmap. Bring feedback and ideas together, prioritize as a team, and keep your roadmap connected to delivery in Jira.
3️⃣ Why This Is an HR Problem
HRO Today frames it clearly: botsitting is not just a productivity issue — it is an employee experience one.
Every extra 10% of time feeding AI context makes workers 25% more likely to feel exhausted
Debugging AI outputs is the single most draining botsitting task
When botshitting goes unchecked, errors influence decisions quietly — long before anyone notices
The question HR needs to ask is not "are employees using AI?" It is: "what is that doing to them?"
🤯Save the date: HR Playbook goes in-person.
On October 10th, SpringVerify and Masters' Union are getting HR leaders from India's boardrooms into one room in Gurugram — and asking them the questions most conferences are too polite to ask.
Should AI's productivity gains go to the company or the employee? Is "meritocracy" just DEI's more comfortable cousin? Can measurement ever replace trust?
No panels of people repeating the same point, or talking at surface level; but also, no jargon for jargon's sake.
Just sharp people, sharper questions, PLUS a debate stage where two HR leaders will actually disagree with each other, on the record.
4️⃣ What HR Should Do
📋 Redefine productivity metrics — output volume is wrong when most work is now supervision
🧠 Train for AI judgment — knowing when to trust AI matters more than knowing how to use it
🔍 Audit your tools — if 36% of AI sessions are failing, that is a tool problem, not a people problem
💬 Build honest feedback channels — employees exhausted by AI they did not choose will not tell you without a safe space to do so
🏗️ Redesign workflows — as TechTarget notes, real gains come from embedding AI in well-designed workflows, not bolting it onto broken ones
